As we enter 2014, I wish everyone a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy New Year of the Horse!

Thank you to all of the Officers and Chairs taking consecutive or repeat terms to support ACUW.  We are lucky to have your support, experience and expertise.

We are proud of the Christmas Committee (Co-Chaired Doris Lam and Christine Young and Courtesy Chair, Colleen-Pang Wong and her mother Carol Pang) for a job well done. We were especially honored to have had as a special guest speaker at the Christmas Installation Luncheon, Taipei Economic Cultural Office, Director General Mr. V.C. Chu (with Assistant Amy Lin) and the Councilmember Stanley Chang with Proclamation for ACUW.

Thank you also to the incoming and outgoing board members who provided the prizes for the lucky numbers and our special guests.

We were fortunate that ACUW was recognized in publications of the World Journal Chinese News by President Karl Kao and Star Advertiser-Midweek’s journalist, John Berger. President Blossom was also invited for a photo session by Council Chair Ernie Martin and attended their last City Council meeting for 2013.  She took photographs with the councilmembers at Honolulu Hale with the City Seal in the background.

At our joint meeting last year, we recognized Maura Yee and Lois Mui with a fruit basket as they were great hostesses and opened up their homes to us for Board meetings. We also thanked the retiring Directors Sybil Kyi and Betty Jong. Enjoy! A surprise announcement was that Millie Lui and Betty Jong both agreed to sponsor the trolley for the Night In Chinatown Parade. Enjoy the Ride!  Xie Xie!

We can look forward to a smooth transition, the Cookbook publication, and hopefully the long awaited 501(c)3 status in 2014.
