“A Taste of Creativity,” ACUW’s 2015 fundraiser, continues to receive Raves!!! Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Coral Ballroom was set aglow with poetic basket centerpieces named “Psst, Take me Home!” Complementing the stunning centerpiece was a classically creative programme, asymmetrically set in the center.

One could not step into the Coral Market Place and not sense a step up in this venue! Lush exotic plants in Zen-like pots greeted you from the Summer Garden!

An array of expertly packaged and attractively arranged Silent Auction items were set up for one’s perusal. Oh, so much to choose from…look at those Lucky Draws!!!

Vendors with items so tempting were calling to you. The feel was spaciousness with clean lines.

Then you spot the busy table with those happy ladies bringing out oodles and oodles of yummy goodies. It’s the Bake Sale table! Better grab all those delights coming from so many members’ generous contributions!

The doors open and a wonder world of slides play on two huge projection screens accentuating the varied activities of ACUW.

That’s only a part of this fundraiser…

The lights dim and a musical invocation is danced to “Our Prayer,” a golden moment where we ask for God’s guidance in ACUW’s future where our member’s work together fostering education, community service and culture.

After all this wonderfulness, it’s time to dine! Expecting a piece of rubbery chicken? No such luck---the chili garlic chicken is moist and tasty, the salad is crunchy and the dessert is a bit tart but divine!

You sit back and it is time for Frank De Lima! He portrays numerous characters, feels the receptiveness of the crowd and goes full blast (he really said this). Man, how can this get any better?

It’s time for “AXIS,” the avant-garde fashion delight created by the University of Hawai‘i Mānoa’s School of Fashion Design and Merchandising. Holy Smokes! Look at those unique and chic fashions draped on such sleek, thin, attractive, and young models! Look at those heels!

What a great partnership it was with the University of Hawai‘i as we were given a glimpse of what fashion students are creating. The designers and aspiring models were enthused to experience a professional event set in a classic venue!

FYI: Frank De Lima went “full blast” for ACUW providing us laughs and Class. Let’s support him too! Frank’s business, Hawnlion Productions, Inc. is reasonably priced for various occasions (weddings, birthdays, parties, graduations). Email: markdelima@hotmail.com or call 808-521-4529.

Audio Zone provided excellent sound and projection screens. Their rates are unbelievable! They also do videos for special occasions as well as other A/V specialties! joey@AudioZoneDJ.com or call 310-614-1852 or 808-386-0264.
